The Big 5 Show

Innovative range

Supporting its offices and distributors in Dubai and the region, the ACO Group will once again be exhibiting at the Big 5 show, with a display designed to promote not only its popular ranges of surface drainage systems but several innovative new products developed during the past year.

In the spotlight will be its wastewater treatment systems, oil and grease separation technology, roof and floor drains, access covers and newly-developed surface drainage systems, which will a focus of interest for designers, consultants and contractors visiting the show, says Keith Lambourne, a spokesman for the ACO Group.
“Recognised as a world leader in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant polymer concrete and stainless steel surface channel drainage systems, ACO offers the most extensive and best-designed range of products, with tens of thousands of metres installed in projects around the Middle East and over 100 million metres installed worldwide,” says Lambourne.
ACO systems are installed in some of the most prestigious projects in the Middle East including the Burj Al Arab, Dubai International Airport, Grand Hyatt and Jumeirah Beach hotels, Dubai Marina, all in Dubai; Abu Dhabi airports; the Grand Mosque in Muscat, Oman; the Coca Cola Factory, Kuwait International Airport, both in Kuwait; the Sheraton, Kempinski and Four Seasons Hotels in Jordan; Al Faisaliah Centre, King Saud University, King Fahad Airport, all in Saudi Arabia; and Pepsi Cola, Egypt.
“Our polymer concrete channels have corrosion-resistant properties that ensure that they are unaffected by salts, petrol, diesel, oil, many acids and alkalis. In addition, they are virtually non-porous, which make them suitable for use in aggressive environments where ordinary concrete is subject to deterioration,” he says.
He continues: “These systems provide the best solution for the removal or containment of surface liquids and are economic, safe, lightweight, simple and fast to install.”
Another special product from ACO is ACO Sport systems, which is said to provide an ideal solution for the efficient drainage of athletic tracks and other sport venues and have been installed in many of the world’s Olympic, Commonwealth and national stadiums including the 2004 Athens Olympic Stadium and Stadium Australia built for the 2000 Olympic Games.
ACO stainless steel channels, gullies and gratings were chosen for the kitchens of the Grand Hyatt Hotel and the Zabeel Palace in Dubai but have also been installed in many airport catering facilities around the world, including Cathay Pacific at Hong Kong Airport, Lagos Airport and Abu Dhabi Airport.
Active in the Middle East for more than 15 years, ACO now has a leadership position in the region in offering solutions to problems of surface drainage and containment, Lambourne concludes.
