The Saudi Prefab Houses (SPH), which started off as a manufacturer of doors, now offers a wide range of various metal products.

It has recently secured a niche market through its blast-resistant doors that are currently being supplied to a number of oil and gas and petrochemical industries in the region.
“Our business levels have grown significantly over the past year and we are presently supplying a number of projects in the Gulf,” says a spokesman for the Dammam-based company.
The company, which has founded 20 years ago, has firmly established a reputation as a local door manufacturer and contributed to the construction field by supplying of quality products for major projects in Saudi Arabia. Over the years, its reputation has spread across the region, where it now supplies a number of countries with its quality products.
SPH is currently supplying blast-resistant doors to Ras Laffan Refinery and Qatar Chemicals Company, both in Qatar as well as Habshan and Ruwais gas projects in the UAE.
“Exports account for 20 to 25 per cent of our output,” he adds.
According to the spokesman, the company is keen to expand its output but is seriously hampered by a shortage of manpower.
Major clients in Saudi Arabia include Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), all ministries, the Royal Commission, and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic).
Elsewhere in the Gulf, it has supplied to Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Gas, Qatar Water and Electricity, Qatar Fertiliser Company (Qafco), all in Qatar; Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) in Kuwait; Oman Fertiliser Company in Oman; Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) in Bahrain; and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), OGD, Ruwais refinery, RNGL, all in the UAE.
SPH is a certified manufacturer of fire-rated wooden doors, hollow metal doors and blast-resistant doors.
“Our doors were tested in an independent laboratory in the US,” says the spokesman.
Today, its operations are divided into three main divisions – steel doors, wood and steel structures.
The steel door division offers hollow metal, fire-rated hollow metal, steel sliding, security and blast resistant doors. The wood division specialises in hollow core, solid core and fire-rated, panel, plastic laminated and sliding doors as well as kitchen cabinets, reception counters, cabinets and shelves. The steel structure division caters to the requirements for truck bodies, garbage compactors and miscellaneous steelworks.
