Dar Metal Industries (DMI), which specialises in structural and architectural metal and glazing works, has launched an expansion programme with a view to attaining a sales target of SR20 million ($5.3 million) this year.

“We have embarked on an expansion programme which entails adding new machinery and equipment and increasing our workforce, which will help us to enhance our production capacity and achieve our sales target of SR20 million during 2007-2008,” says Mohammad Salman, general manager of the company.
DMI is a contracting firm engaged in the design, engineering, manufacture, supply and installation of structural and architectural steel works, architectural aluminium and glass curtain-walling and cladding, stainless steel and brass metal decorative and ornamental works and glazing works such as framed and frameless glass facades and shopfronts.
The company is currently completing work on a number of prestigious projects including the Al Shubaily Grand Mall in the Eastern Province and the El Ajou head office, while work is ongoing at the King Faisal University campus.
“We are close to completing our SR6.35 million contract for the Al Shubaily Grand Mall project, which has involved structural steelwork for the canopy, bridge, pyramidal structure and roofing of the project,” says Salman.
The architect/consultant for the project is A&O Omrania. DMI started work on the project in March last year.
Under a SR4.2 million contract, DMI is close to completing the curtain-walling, structural glazing and aluminium composite cladding and other related work involved in the El Ajou head office building. The company started work on the project for El Ajou last August and is now putting the finishing touches.

It started work on the SR6.35 million contract in February this year and expects to complete it by August.  The consultant/architect on the project is Buro-Happold.
The company was created with the objective of creating a one-stop shop to provide cost-effective solutions to the varied needs of clients for structural and architectural metal and glazing works.
