The Big 5

Dramatic impact

CPS ... range of fixing and anchoring solutions.

Construction Products Solutions (CPS) intends to create a dramatic impact when it makes its debut at the Big 5 show this year:

The UK-based company will introduce a revolutionary range of fixing and anchoring solutions that is designed to “bring dynamism to a market saturated with commonplace products that are distinguishable only by price,” according to a company spokesman.
Recently-formed with a slogan of “motivate, innovate, solve”, CPS’ philosophy is to provide new innovative products to the construction, civil engineering and associated markets. In line with this philosophy, the company has recently developed a string of new products, which include the Surefit NT and Sure U/C anchors and the Surelok fixing, which will be promoted at the show.
Elaborating on Surefit NT, he says: “The Surefit NT anchor does away with the need for all kinds of conventional resin anchors. Manufactured using the latest techniques in rubber compound technology, the anchor can be used as close as 20 mm to the edge of structural concrete without causing any problems.
“Extensive testing at both high and low temperatures – besides many other additional tests – indicates the high levels of investment that have gone into producing this world-class product.
“With the rubber compound having a life expectancy in excess of 60 years, the SurefitNT anchor is by far the most significant development in anchor technology over the past 25 years!”
The product is available either in plated high tensile or stainless steel.
The Sure U/C is a new stress-free undercut anchor system that can be used in the tension and compressive zones of concrete. It has been developed to meet the needs of engineers for anchors that function in both cracked and non-cracked concrete, he says.
The Sure U/C can be installed in three simple steps, which leave a cylindrical, undercut hole in the concrete to suit the appropriate size of anchor, which is hammer set into place to complete the installation.
“Unlike other undercut anchor systems, the Sure U/C is very quick to install and is not restricted by the concrete strength,” he points out.
The anchor is offered in a comprehensive range of sizes in either stainless or high tensile steel to ensure there is solution for various cracked concrete problems.
Turning to the new fixing product, he says: “By using the new Surelok fixing, the installer is able to speed up the whole installation process for pipe clamps and cable clips by as much as fourfold. The patented special plastic plug and new design of threaded flat (Surebar) replace the conventional plug and screw fixing.”
Other innovative products offered by the company include the CPS Suretwist range of helical material for stress-free fixing into all kinds of solid material – including Aircrete blocks – and Surepile, a helical pile for all kinds of low-rise structural support in refurbishment or new-build projects, where it will act as a superior alternative to conventional concrete piles, he adds.
CPS will be present within the UK Pavilion at the Big 5 show.
