The Big 5

New-design range

Canpas ... wooing the market.

Turkish formwork specialist company Canpas will be using the Big 5 show as the launch pad for introducing its innovatively-designed product range on the Middle East markets.

The move comes as a prelude to setting up a new factory in Dubai and offices in Oman, Qatar and Kuwait, according to Z A Khan, spokesperson for the company.
“We are planning to introduce our state-of the-art industrial formwork systems and scaffolding at the show, where we will be exhibiting for the first time,” he says.
Apart from the factory, Canpas also intends to set up a research and development centre in Dubai, which will help to develop new systems for industrial formwork. It will also add new products to its existing portfolio in a bid to tap new markets in the construction sector, he adds.
Canpas’ diverse product portfolio includes floor formwork, foundation, wall and column formwork, beams and slabs, climbing formwork, scaffolding, plywood formwork, H-20 wood beams, and other formwork accessories and parts.
Business has been looking up for the company, which has seen its turnover increase by 30 per cent globally, he says. Canpas currently has a 25 per cent share of the domestic market.
Entering the Gulf market is a logical step in its ambitions to penetrate markets worldwide. “The prospects for the construction industry in the GCC looks inviting and the main markets that we are targeting in the region are UAE, Oman, Qatar and India,” says Khan.
The company provides both before and after-sales service as well as site supervision services at no extra cost to its clients. In addition, it uses AutoCad systems to ensure that projects are worked out economically and efficiently.
Established in 1985 in Istanbul, Turkey, the company has been active for the past 26 years on national as well as international projects.
Canpas, an ISO 9001-certified company, is staffed by around 55 people and registers a turnover of around $5 million per year.
The company will be present at stand ES8 at the Big 5 show.
