Techno-Chroma ... the new exclusive line.

RAK Ceramics, the frontrunner in the ceramic industry boasting worldwide sales of more than $400 million, will once again be making its presence felt at the Big 5 exhibition, this time with its latest and exclusive Gres Porcellanato offering, the Techno-Chroma.

“Over the past 15 years, RAK Ceramics has created the largest and most exclusive product lines in the ceramic world with new styles offered every month, appealing to all market segments, such as interior designers and architects; engineers, major retail chains, corporates, do-it-yourself retailers and home owners,” says Dr Khater Massaad, CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah-based company. Last year, the Ras Al Khaimah operations alone notched sales of Dh1 billion ($272.5 million).
RAK Ceramics’ displays at the Big 5 shows have been the cynosure every year and this year too it looks set to carry on that tradition. The spotlight this time by the ceramics and sanitary ware major will be on Techno-Chroma, which is already under production at its state-of-the-art factory.
The newest product will be available in the 60 by 120 (exact size 59.5 cm by 119.5 cm) format as well as several other sizes, all in a thickness of 13.0 mm and initially offered in 21 exclusive colours. While the slabs will be cut to special sizes, requests for special sizes other can also be undertaken.
“There are several features that make Techno-Chroma, the top-of-the-range Gres Porcellanto offering from RAK Ceramics,” says Dr Massaad. “It is available in 21 stunning colours comprising a mix of vibrant and subdued pastel shades, it’s modular with a highly polished and satin finish with micro-chamfered edges. It also has all the technical finesse of RAK Ceramics’ polished porcelain standards with water absorption of less than 0.05 per cent.
“The tiles are an architect's delight in terms of plain colours, giving him the scope to create that special ambience and allowing him the freedom to mix and match with the special colours and modular sizes.”
The ceramics specialist has recently developed a wide range of products including other unique Gres Porcellanato models such as Bahia and Nacar, and ceramic tiles developments such as Alicante, Contrasto, Croco, Roma, Jeans, Chelsea and Venetian, which will be share the limelight at the show.

RAK Ceramics also manufactures an exclusive range of sanitary ware to offer with a wide choice in designer bathroom sets, wash basins (which can be mounted as well as pedestal), water closets, bidets, bath tubs, shower trays, kitchen sinks, bathroom cabinets, accessories and related items.
Established in 1989, RAK Ceramics produces around 200,000 sq m of ceramic tiles and more than 7,000 pieces of sanitary ware per day at its Ras Al Khaimah plant alone. Several dedicated presses and kilns at this plant are used exclusively to produce special items such as decors, listellos and skirtings. In addition, it has a number of overseas plants, which take global production of tiles up to 300,000 sq m of tiles per day, making it the world’s largest multinational manufacturer of ceramic and porcelain tiles. Globally, the company also produces over 10,000 pieces of sanitary ware per day.
