Al Bakhit Construction Equipment, a frontrunner in equipment supply to the UAE market, will be showcasing the all-new static pump and the mobile static pump when it makes its debut at the Big 5 show this year.
The mobile static pump fitted with a Nissan chassis is the first built by Sany Heavy Industries and the design was in collaboration with Al Bakhit Construction Engineers.
“These two pumps are new to the Dubai market and we are hoping to revolutionise the way concrete pumping is carried out, especially in multi-storey buildings,” says Paul Austin-Price, deputy general manager of the Dubai-based firm, which is the agent for Sany Heavy Industries, China’s biggest manufacturer of concrete pumping equipment.
The static pump 90C 2135D is the biggest concrete pump produced by Sany and is capable of pumping concrete to a height of 600 m. It will be used in the construction of the Index Tower, which is designed to be the second tallest building in Dubai when finished.
“This is our first time at the Big 5 and we are looking for new customers. We are happy to be a part of the show, which we consider to be the largest construction event of the Middle East,” he adds.
Al Bakhit has been a regular visitor to the Big 5 show and says that the show provides a shop window for contractors, specifies and consultants from across the region to have a look at the best products from across the globe under one roof.
Sany trailer-mounted pumps have been well-received by the market. “Sany, which is one of the top manufacturers of concrete pumps and other equipment in China, has been an immediate success with construction companies. Tried and tested in various parts of the world, both the 48-m mobile pumps and the heavy-duty static pumps are robust, reliable and highly efficient,” adds Austin-Price.
The pumps, which come in different specifications to suit the needs and requirements of the customers, are claimed to be the only trailer-mounted concrete delivery units that have passed the overloading experiment test modelling the actual working situations. The pumps have been designed for the construction of demanding projects such as super-high structures, tunnels and bridges.
Al Bakhit offer a one-stop-shop for concrete pumping equipment from Sany Heavy Industries of China, Baoda passenger hoists, Raimondi tower Cranes from Italy, Snowkey ice plants for use with concrete batching and NFLG large-capacity concrete batching plants.
From its headquarters in Dubai, the company supplies its heavy construction equipment across the Middle East and India.
Established in 1977 by Mohammed Salem Al Bakhit, Unimix, (Universal Concrete Products) was the forerunner to what is now the Al Bakhit group of Companies. Over the years, the Al Bakhit Group has adopted the best business practices and highest production standards and, in doing so, has developed a reputation within the construction industry for reliability while building long-term business relationships with major construction companies throughout the UAE.
The Al Bakhit group has strengthened its business in the Middle East through diversification over the years. In 1987, the company established the Unimix block factory and also Al Bakhit Real Estate Company and then went on to form the Al Bakhit Construction Company in 2003 to supply much-needed construction and concrete pumping equipment to the construction industry throughout the GCC.
“Over the past three years the construction industry in the UAE has shown fantastic growth, and experts predict that the growth with continue for the next seven to 10 years allowing our company to capitalise on this business and complete the expansion plans already in place to capture new business,” adds Austin-Price.
“Many of the iconic buildings with which Al Bakhit Group has been associated form the very character of Dubai’s future. From the majestic Burj Al Arab as the world’s tallest and most magnificent hotel to the futuristic Emirates Towers Hotel and now the iconic Burj Dubai – slated to be the tallest building in the world – are all constructed with Unimix concrete,” he adds.
