
Leed is a voluntary certification that may be sought at various levels – platinum, gold and silver – and the criteria include mandatory prerequisites such as no-smoking, energy efficiency and air quality.
It accords a total of 69 points based on energy (17), indoor environmental quality (15), materials (13), water and wastes (5), sustainable sites (14) and innovation (5).
A project wins certification if it can meet all prerequisites and achieves a minimum of 26 points.
