Non-ozone depleting chillers and air-conditioning units that offer multiple health benefits are among the new high-tech systems that UAE-based UTS Carrier will promote Big 5 show, which it will use as a platform for highlighting its capabilities as a total.

The products that it will focus on include the new Aquaforce Chiller with non-ozone depleting technology and the new hi-wall series of Xpression and the G3 window air conditioners for residential use.
“We are a regular participant at the Big 5 and the show has helped us conclude many lucrative deals, apart from providing contacts that translated into sales,” says Javed Arshad, general manager of UTS Carrier. “Exhibiting at the event helps us make important contacts as well as feel the pulse of the industry as the show attracts focused trade visitors who know what they want and which stand to visit. It is the biggest show of its kind, tailored to meet the requirements of the industry by bringing all players and customers under one roof. The industry and company profiles of participants are complementary and substantially contribute to making the Big 5 a common forum for presenting broader industry issues and developments.”
UTS Carrier supplies a wide range of air-conditioning systems for commercial, residential and industrial use.  It also offers commercial, transport and marine refrigeration services and has a fully-equipped service division to serve its customers.
In addition, the company’s parts, accessories and allied products division caters to the requirements of the entire range of the air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
At this year’s edition of the Big 5, the company will be displaying its new split-unit (wall-mounted) Xpression Health Plus series of air-conditioners that are designed specifically for desert conditions. This innovative range features ionizer technology, photo-catalyst filter, aesthetic design, powerful cooling, and energy savings, which together offer multiple health benefits such as reduction in fatigue and allergies.
While the cooling condensing unit of the new air conditioners reduces the indoor temperature, the in-built ionizer technology in the Xpression series defuses negative ions, which attract pollutants such as dust, smog, human and animal dander, smoke and allergens, says Imad Richani, business unit manager of the company.
“Additionally, Xpression Health Plus’ noise level is only 37 decibels, which is just five decibels higher than a whisper. The Health Plus resin motor application keeps the running of the split unit smooth and quiet,” he points out
He continues: “In the UAE, residents cannot afford the luxury of using only natural ventilation and homeowners frequently complain about indoor air quality, excessive fine dust particles, bad odours, smoke and domestic smells. According to research in Japan, the ionizer technology in the advanced air-cleansing system and the photo-catalytic filter help reduce such allergens from the home environment.”
The new Hi-Wall series has five models and is available in 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3-ton capacities to suit individual needs and are currently available at UTS Carrier outlets and air conditioning retailers in the UAE.
Commenting on the current business prospects, Richani says that as the HVAC industry is closely aligned with the construction industry- which is currently booming, the company is optimistic of further growth or at least of being able to maintain the same levels of growth.
“Our goal is to consolidate both our product portfolio and market presence in the region to achieve higher growth in the short and the long term. We are focused on continuously building a customer-centric organisation through improved products and services,” he adds.
With the domestic market growing rapidly, the company aims to consolidate its position as the industry leader and develop the most innovative and technologically-advanced HVAC products in the UAE.
“With encouraging construction sector growth rates expected in the near future, the HVAC industry is up for some very exciting times ahead. While traditionally Saudi Arabia and the UAE have been our biggest markets, Qatar’s rapid growth and economic development is also very impressive,” says Arshad.
UTS Carrier, a joint venture company between UAE-based United Technical Services and US-based Carrier Corporation (a unit of diversified company United Technologies Corporation), was established in 1963 at Abu Dhabi.
Currently staffed by around 360 employees, the company has expanded over the years to include branches in Al Ain, Fujairah, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
UTS Carrier will be present at stand 1A 11 at the Big 5 show.
