Conmy ... positive approach.

Having opened a new regional office in Dubai following a successful launch at the Big 5 last year, the UK-based IT solutions provider RedSky IT returns to this year’s trade show with even greater optimism and with a plan to launch two new industry software solutions during the event.

The company’s new Dubai office has rapidly grown over the past year, having secured more than $1 million worth of contracts for its Summit software solution with leading Middle East construction firms. Summit has been successful in attracting many contractors and developers who wanted a single solution to offer them companywide financial and operational control. Summit helps contractors keep control of their margins and manage multiple projects profitably and is built on world-class technology using the Oracle database.
Its success has been such that the IT solution provider to the construction industry supply chain has had to further expand its operations by moving into a larger and more prestigious premises in Dubai Internet City.
The first solution is targeted at architects, engineers and consultants (AEC). Known as Progression AEC, the software addresses the huge demand for project accounting, time capture and project forecasting solutions from these professional service firms. RedSky IT already has an impressive AEC customer base including 14 of the top 50 UK consultants such as Faber Maunsell, Mouchel Parkman, Arup, Buro Happold, Corus, Davis Langdon, Gardiner & Theobald, High Point Rendel, Jacobs Babtie, Pell Frischmann, Scott Wilson, Turner & Townsend and BDP among others. Many of these firms have operations in the Middle East and the company supplies solutions to help these practices manage costs on all major projects worldwide.
The second solution, called Informate, was developed by RedSky IT following the UK’s rapid take-up of knowledge management within the construction sector, to satisfy the need for a product that suits the way that the industry works.
“This software offers contractors, developers and AEC firms web content, document and knowledge management solutions to open up their existing business systems to anyone including staff, selected business partners and also clients,” says Tim Nichols, marketing manager of the company. “Informate will be launched to the Middle East sector at the Big 5 show where visitors can see its effectiveness as a solution for managing documents, web content, intranets/extranets along with access to back office software,” he adds.
“We launched our Middle East operations at last year’s Big 5 show, during which we were extremely busy throughout the five days, dealing with more than 100 interested parties. Our proven construction software solutions attracted a wide range of firms from across the GCC and we secured significant contracts as a result of the show,” says John Conmy, director of the company’s operations in Dubai. “We are building on last year’s success and aim to have an even busier show this year with the launch and demonstration of our new software solutions, for which we can clearly see a demand.”
RedSky IT is one of the only specialist construction software providers to attend the trade fair and – in addition to Progression AEC and Informate – will also be demonstrating the Summit financial and operational software solutions that have attracted major construction firms across the Middle East for the past year.
RedSky IT (formerly Ramesys Construction Services) has more than 30 years of experience in delivering software applications to the construction industry with a focus on providing specialist IT solutions for varied requirements to contractors, specialist trade contractor, architects, consulting engineers, maintenance contractor and total facilities management providers, among others. Its Middle East clients include Al Futtaim Carillion, Dutco Balfour Beatty and Khansaheb Civil Engineering.
With three of the top five UAE contractors using its contract financial and operational software, 40 per cent of the top 100 UK contractors using its contract financial and 14 of the top 50 UK consultants using its project financials, the company is well on its way to become one of the principal IT application software companies in the world ready to take on a wide range of market-specific challenges.
RedSky IT will be present at Hall 1, Stand 18 in the UK pavilion at the Big 5.
