Meka Engineering Industry Company, one of Turkey’s leading fabricators and exporters of concrete batching plant, will be returning to the Big 5 show this year to explore further potential for the installation of its plants in the Gulf in view of the boom in the region’s construction sector.

“As a reputable global manufacturer of concrete batching plants that has been active for close to two decades, we are keen on presenting some interesting proposals to potential customers at the trade show. These will reflect the high quality of our manufacturing skills and excellent customer service. We are a regular participant at the Big 5 shows and hope to secure new markets in the fast-growing construction sector of the Middle East this year too,” says Yunus Uzel, a sales engineer of the company.
Meka has carried out a number of projects throughout the GCC for various companies including Rabban Readymix, Construction Development Company, Galfar Al Misnad, Boodai Trading Company, Al Mana Progressive Company (Thinet), Al Saad General Contracting, Icon Precast, Al Marwan, Bahrain Concrete, Al Quds (Al Kurdi), Al Ghafly and Raban Al Safina, among others.
“We are currently aiming to position Meka as the preferred brand of concrete batching plants all over the world,” adds Uzel. Meka’s markets have been expanding rapidly with its exports having doubled last year.
In its domestic market, Meka’s concrete batching plants are being used by leading construction firms such as Enka, Gama, Age, Gap and Tekser.
“While we have a number of competitors in Turkey, Meka has acquired a 30 per cent share of the domestic market, thanks to our quality products and excellent reputation,” Uzel says.
In view of its ambitions, Meka has opened a new agency in Russia last year to cater to the growing markets for concrete batching plants in that region. It has also opened a new 20,000 sq m factory in the industrial zone in Ankara in Turkey, which will help double its production capacity.
Meka, an ISO-9001 certified company, exports to various countries in the Middle East including the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, as well as to Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Its product portfolio includes wet as well as dry batching plants of various sizes and mobile batching plants.
Meka’s research and development division is constantly developing new models and innovations in concrete batching plants.
Established in 1987 Meka has concrete batching plants at Ostim Industry Zone and the Baskent Industry Zone in Ankara. The firm, which has an annual turnover of around $15 million, is staffed by around 250 employees including 15 engineers.
Meka will be present at the Turkish Pavilion, Hall 7, Stand 7D310 at the Big 5 show this year.
