

The attractive displays that RAK Ceramics creates for the Big 5 shows have been a cynosure every year at the event and this year too look set to carry on that tradition when the leading global ceramics and sanitary ware major puts the spotlight on its newest and most exclusive.
Specialising in high-quality ceramic wall and floor tiles, Gres Porcellanato, and sanitary ware, UAE-headquartered ceramics specialist has recently developed a wide range of products including unique Gres Porcellanato models such as Techno Chroma, Bahia and Nacar, and ceramic tiles developments such as Alicante, Contrasto, Croco, Roma, Jeans, Chelsea and Venetian, which will be share the limelight at the show.
“Over the past 15 years, RAK Ceramics has created the largest and most exclusive product lines in the ceramic world with new styles offered every month, appealing to all market segments, such as interior designers and architects; engineers, major retail chains, corporates, do-it-yourself retailers and home owners, says a spokesman for the Ras Al Khaimah-based company.
RAK Ceramics is today a frontrunner in the ceramic industry and boasts current worldwide sales are more than $400 million, with its Ras Al Khaimah operations along having notched sales of Dh1 billion ($272.5 million) last year.
“Considering the very extensive product range of the company, it is obvious that the strength of RAK Ceramics has been the speed with which it innovates itself to meet market expectations with new designs and products catered to the various world markets,” he says.
RAK Ceramics has more than 6,000 models ‘active’ in the ceramic and porcelain tile sector and adds several new designs almost every week to its existing product portfolio. The company, which manufactures tiles in a wide range of sizes varying from 10 cm into 10 cm up to 125 cm into 185 cm, claims to have the widest range on offer from any one company in the ceramic field worldwide. The company manufactures the largest Gres Porcellanato slabs in the industry (125 cm by 185 cm), which are used in both interior and exterior decor. Exclusive vanity tops and water jet designs are also manufactured from these slabs.
The company produces thousands of models of Gres Porcellanato tiles in soluble salt, salt and pepper and glazed covered finishes such as polished, semi polished, unpolished, rustic, stone, mosaic, and travertine, among others.
RAK Ceramics also manufactures an exclusive range of sanitary ware to offer with a very wide choice in designer bathroom sets, wash basins which can be mounted as well as pedestal, water closets, bidets, bath tubs, shower trays, kitchen sinks, bathroom cabinets, accessories and related items.
Established in 1989, RAK Ceramics produces around 200,000 sq m of ceramic tiles and more than 7,000 pieces of sanitary ware per day at its Ras Al Khaimah plant alone. Two presses and three kilns at this plant are also used exclusively to produce special items like decors, listellos and skirtings. In addition, it has a number of overseas plants, which take global production of tiles up to 300,000 sq m of tiles per day, making it the world’s largest multinational manufacturer of ceramic and porcelain tiles. Globally, the company also produces over 10,000 pieces of sanitary ware per day.
