Cyprus-based manufacturer of specialised building materials Tsircon is scouting for partners who could manufacture the company’s range of speciality products locally in the Middle East.
The company – which has a portfolio of more than 190 products on its list, ranging from concrete repair admixtures to surface retarders, mould release agents to curing compounds – is planning to increase its visibility in the region by participating in next year’s Big 5 show.
“Tsircon has been considering participating at the Big 5 for the past couple of years and we feel this is the right time to enter the Middle East market with our vast range of products,” says managing director Angelos Tsirides.
“In the long run, we plan to establish a very efficient distribution network for the markets of Europe, Middle East, Far East and Africa – through agents, joint ventures and local manufacturing.’’
The ISO-compliant company is keenly seeking manufacturers in Bahrain and Qatar for the local manufacture and sale of its range of formulations.
“There is a huge potential for our products in the booming Middle East market, but it would not be feasible to enter the market in a big way without having a manufacturing set-up in the region as we will have to compete with those who have already established local units,” Tsirides says.
Currently, the company uses its office and warehouse in Lebanon to serve the Middle East markets.
Established in 1979 as a trading company for building chemicals, Tsircon has grown over the years to become one of the leading manufacturers in Cyprus of specialised building materials – especially in waterproofing, concrete repairs and industrial flooring.
The company has offices and warehouses in Nicosia and Limassol, apart from its office in Lebanon.
In 1993, the company formed a subsidiary – Tsircon Constructions – to undertake local and international general construction contracts, with an emphasis on concrete repairs and general renovation and strengthening of structures, industrial floors, waterproofing and other specialised works.
“Investing in high technology is part of our company policy and annually we invest on various upgrades, which make our manufacturing processes more accurate and consistent,” says Tsirides. “We keep abreast of technological developments that can provide our products high-quality standards.”
“Research and development is another key factor in our success, where we try to transform our customer’s needs into high-quality products,” he says.
Tsircon, which has over 100 employees, has seen a healthy growth of 15 per cent last year which it expects to maintain this year, says Tsirides. “We intend to introduce new products and enhance our product range in the near future,” he adds.
“Our operations are highly focused on quality improvement and customer satisfaction. We are achieving our targets, thanks to the support of our highly-qualified and skilled personnel. Every year, we invest a high proportion of our income for training our personnel in the aspects of production, quality control and management.
“Quality and environment protection are integral components of our philosophy. Our mission is to achieve 100 per cent quality products and customer satisfaction at all times,” says Tsirides.
The company has put into practice its commitment for Total Quality Management (TQM) and ISO certification over the past seven years.
“Our daily laboratory tests for each production batch seek to achieve high quality products required by international standards, such as the British Standards, ASTM and others. Through this procedure, we reassure our clients of the high quality of our products.”
‘‘In addition, Tsircon imports selective and high quality raw materials from various parts of the world. “These products include construction chemicals, mechanical fixings, and formwork accessories, and helps us to maintain high quality in production,” he says.
“Protection of the environment also constitutes a serious concern to us and our strategy has been to always provide environmentally friendly products,” Tsirides adds.
