Big 5 Show

Strategic planning

Cefla Finishing systems ... wide range on offer.

Leading Italian ‘wood’ specialist – the Cefla Finishing Group, part of the 75-year-old Cefla Group – intends to establish a presence in the booming construction markets of the region, by participating at the region’s premier construction show – the Big 5.

“Our participation at this year’s Big 5, confirms our interest in investing in a strategic area such as the GCC,” says a company spokesman. “The show will provide us a big opportunity to meet potential clients and also lay a firm foundation for our business interests.”
The division has been eyeing the markets of the Middle East for quite a while, and its products and services are being used in the challenging environment of the Middle East, for some time now, he says.
Cefla Finishing Group – which enfolds the firms Sorbini, Falcioni, Cefla Finishing do Brasil – specialises in the manufacture of machines and complete systems used in finishing wooden items, glass and plastic.
Cefla Finishing Group holds a large number of patents, especially for automatic spraying machines with lacquer recovery conveyors, roller coaters with laser-engraved rollers and panel-handling systems. It offers a wide range of machines that include: lacquer application machines, drying ovens, sanding and handling machines for flat and raised panels, every type of mouldings, windows and doors, and assembled furniture.
The glass unit of the group has developed innovative coating machines and installations for industrial glass satin finishing and colouring, which will allow users to quickly and conveniently coat glass with lacquer using laser.
“Using laser technology for lacquer application and an in-line glass oven – an ultra-fast drying system thanks to the hot air ventilation in combination with IR (infrared) lamps or catalytic, gas-fired plates – it is possible to achieve different coating effects ranging from: satin finished, enamelled and metallic using hot lacquers, oil-borne, waterborne and UV- (ultra-violet)-resistant coatings, mono- and bi-component products,” says the spokesman.
“The “plastic” finishing sector – although different in some aspects – offers services similar to the wood-coating sector,” says the spokesman.
Cefla Finishing also has an environmental engineering division that produces VOC (volatile organic compounds) purification systems for various industrial requirements - be it lacquering, skin or graphics.
Established in 1932, Cefla Group today runs its operations worldwide and generates a turnover of 250 million euro with more than 1,000 employees and production installations in Italy and Brazil.
“Cefla’s Finishing Group posts an annual turnover of 75 million euro, of which approximately 80 per cent is achieved through its exports, thanks to a worldwide sales network,” says the spokesman.
The company’s keenness to be close to its customer has resulted in a sales network that comprises branches, agents and dealers in order to create the most efficient organisation within each territory, he adds.
A strong drive towards continuous growth, worldwide expansion, and its ability to offer innovative products has produced very positive results over the years and led to growing turnover and net earnings, says the spokesman. Today, the company has four organised divisions that include:
• Store fixtures and fittings;
• Finishing systems for wood-based products;
• Civil and industrial plants; and
• Medical equipment.
