Euro Group, which will make its debut at the Big 5 Show this year, will put on display the latest in water-treatment technology, spray-on insulation and polypropylene fibre at its stand 2E97.
“All these products have been introduced into the market this year and we are excited to make our presence felt at the Big 5,” says Magnus Bengtsson, senior advisor to the group.
He continues: “We have chosen the Big 5 show, as it is an excellent chance to showcase to the local market the wide range of products that we have to offer.
‘‘Our target audience are local building companies, building consultants, owners of companies with water problems, estates that require water disposal or cleaning, private investors and of course the municipalities.”
The Big 5 show is eminently suitable to reach the rapidly burgeoning construction industry in the Middle East, according to Bengtsson.
“The market in the region has immense potential, and so does the market of Iraq. The pace of growth shown by the Middle East market has left us astonished and there seems to be no signs of any let-up. Compared to Europe, the pace is incredible,’’ he states. ‘‘The booming construction industry, particularly in Dubai and is comparable to Shanghai in China.’’
“Although we are based in the UAE – in the Dubai Airport Free Zone – we have subsidiaries in Iraq. This is a better way of working as we come in not as a foreign company, but rather as support to localised companies. And this makes a great impact on how business is conducted,” says Bengtsson.
“We are always on the lookout for new products and technology and we are looking forward to include more agency alliances in the construction sector and make a foray into plastic, with a production unit coming up in Jebel Ali,” Bengtsson adds.
Elaborating on the products to be displayed at the Big 5, he says: “We are the sole agents for the spray-on insulation – SpreFix – in the Middle East. Supplied by Ovacon from Sweden, SpreFix uses a patented water-based binder combined with glasswool or rockwool that is suitable for walls and ceilings of buildings and marine applications.
‘‘The product is easy to apply on curved or difficult surfaces, protects against fire, insulates against heat, absorbs sound and is moisture-resistant,” says Bengtsson. “SpreFix has been on the European market for more than 15 years and is the only spray-on product offering both glasswool and rockwool.”
“We are also the sole Middle East distributors for polypropylene fibre manufactured by Baumhuter, Germany. The fibre prevents surface cracking in concrete, especially within the first crucial 48 hours and is particularly suitable for concrete reinforcement,” he adds.
In addition, the company represents three agencies in the water treatment technology sector, which include: Baga International and Dometic (both from Sweden) and PreMac from the UK.
Baga International offers technology that can be scaled in size to suit a range of projects starting from a few households to big municipalities.
“We can offer both kinds of technology – sewage disposal that could involve the pumping of treated sewage into the Gulf as well as sewage treatment. Our technology recycles polluted water into clean, potable water. Even highly chemically-polluted waters like those discharged from laundries can be purified and recycled. This technology finds easy application in larger projects,” says Bengtsson.
“Pre/Mac, which was originally designed for the military, is now available for civilian use as well. The technology used in the system helps convert wastewater into drinking water. Designed to cater for requirements ranging from a one-man survival kit to a system that can serve a whole military unit, the systems are tough and can even be used in harsh environment to convert any type of water into potable water.”
Elaborating on Dometic, Bengtsson says: “Although, Dometic has had its presence in Dubai with other products under the Dometic brand for some time, we are the experts in water treatment, and can easily adapt its technology to the local requirements. Dometic provides water filters capable of reverse osmosis. So we can take any water and take the salt or chemicals out of it. It is particularly suitable for villas with polluted wells and life on boats.
“Our unique selling point is that we can tailor-make the water treatment to the exacting requirements of the local concern. Almost any problem can be dealt with efficiently and with the right capability – providing neither excess nor inadequate capacity.”
