Boral Middle East, a joint venture between France’s Lafarge and Australia’s Boral – two world leaders in building materials, and in the supply of a comprehensive range of high-quality plasterboard systems – continues to make further inroads into the high-profile sector of the market by offering a superior quality of ceiling and partitioning systems.
“The Boral Middle East objective is to meet the technical requirements of our clients by offering them professional and technically-sound assistance, right from the selection of systems and material up to providing the finishing touches on their projects,” says Amer bin Ahmed, Boral Middle East sales and marketing manager.
The Dubai office, which was set up five years ago, has already proven its expertise in offering special systems by:
• Providing time and cost-saving solutions – for example, the company completed seven cinemas at Al Ghurair City in six weeks time, and
• Providing solutions to extremely demanding requirements for its partition and ceiling systems – up to four-hour fire rating and up to 78dB acoustic reduction.
Boral’s success story in the Middle East started in 1998 with the supply of 500,000 sq m of plasterboard partitioning and ceiling systems for the Dubai International Airport.
A year later, the company set up its Middle East headquarters in Dubai, with operating offices and warehouses in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman.
“Boral Middle East has shown its commitment to the region by setting up a full-fledged office of 20 personnel comprising: commercial, technical and logistic departments to better support its customers,” Ahmed says.
Elaborating on the quality of the partitioning and ceiling systems from the company, Ahmed says: “All Boral systems and products comply with Australian, BS and ASTM standards and are tested by independent international test institutes.”
The company’s products have been installed on some of the leading international projects such as the iconic Petronas Towers in Malaysia and it has also been the official sponsor for the Sydney Olympics, 2000.
