Global construction tools manufacturer Hilti is once again flexing its muscles with a range of rotary hammers that offer a host of features to make work light for the construction professional.
These include the cordless TE 2-A, the TE 16 that is described as “the anchor specialist” and the TE 56, a combi-hammer which is designed for demanding applications.
TE 56
Setting new standards in terms of performance, comfort, versatility and reliability, the TE 56 is the top combi-hammer for demanding drilling and chiselling work in electrical and mechanical installation and virtually all other trades, says
Charles Daher of Hilti Regional Office (Middle East & South Asia) in Dubai.
The TE 56 combi-hammer provides an impressive 40 per cent more power than its predecessor, the Hilti TE 55. The TE 56 is ideal for drilling anchor holes and through holes, drilling up to 9 cm diameter holes in concrete, as well as medium chiselling applications, he adds.
TE16
The new TE 16 from Hilti impressively combines power and versatility that tools in this category are typically not capable of providing, Daher continues.
It is a powerful rotary hammer designed especially for repetitive anchor hole drilling in the medium diameter range in concrete and masonry (optimum performance with 10 to 16 mm diameter drill bits). The tool is also highly suitable for socket cutting, drilling in wood and steel and for screw driving.
“The TE 16 is an ideal tool for general use in construction, civil engineering and for facade work,” says Daher. “The rotary hammer sets new standards in performance, quality and ergonomic design. Featuring an extra powerful motor and highly efficient insert bits for fast drilling, an innovative design concept with high-grade materials and superb engineering for reliability and long life, this quiet, smooth-running tool provides top performance and maximum working comfort.”
TE 2-A
The recently-launched cordless rotary hammer – the Hilti TE 2-A – does not only provide users with enhanced drilling performance, drilling capacity and a longer lifetime than many battery drills, but also helps boost performance, whether working on concrete, brick and masonry, he claims. “Be it rotary hammer drilling, straight drilling or setting screws, the 24-volt electro-pneumatic hammer drill will offer a wide range of features and benefits that would satisfy the construction professional no matter what his need is,” says Daher.
Weighing just 3.8 kg with its high-capacity 24V battery pack, the Hilti TE 2-A rotary hammer is the ideal cordless tool for drilling holes of diameters from 6 to 10 mm in concrete and 4 to 16 mm in masonry – making it a preferred choice for drilling anchor holes, he says. It delivers Hilti’s legendary electro-pneumatic hammer drilling performance with high-efficiency bits, backed up by 24V power.
“It’s great for professionals in many trades,” he says. “Being cordless, the TE 2-A is ready for use anywhere, and its heavy-duty 24 V battery packs can be recharged in as little as 20 minutes using the “Top-end” charger.
“With only two batteries, you can work practically uninterrupted on the jobsite – a real boost to your productivity.”
The new integrated front tool grip makes it into an excellently balanced tool. In addition, to make it comfortable for working over longer periods, Hilti has made nose front-heaviness a thing of the past. “It’s a real Hilti innovation,” he adds.
The new hammer’s applications include:
• Window installation (construction trades) – For making holes in concrete and masonry for fastening windows with brackets and Hilti HPS impact anchors;
• Lighting rail installation (electrical trades) – For holes in concrete ceilings for fastening light rails with Hilti HPS impact anchors;
• Pipe ring installation (mechanical trades) – For making holes for fastening pipe rings and punched bands with Hilti HKD drop-in anchors; and
• Light-duty fixtures (interior finishing) – For making holes for HUD plastic anchors for fastening kitchen components to masonry.
