Dubai’s X-Calibur International is supplying environment-friendly self-levelling flooring compound for the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) headquarters in Washington, DC.
The USGBC’s Leed (Leadership in Energy Efficient Design) certification programme provides building owners with a way of demonstrating their buildings are energy efficient and have minimal impact on the environment.
For the project, X-Calibur proposed X-Roc LevelCem 300, its self-levelling floor compound. It was formulated using calcium alumina cement and iron ore slag, resulting in a product with high-performance characteristics and a post-consumer recycled content of approximately 30 per cent, exceeding the requirements laid down in Leed.
