Dubai Metro’s Red Line is nearly ready with 80 per cent of construction work complete, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Major milestones achieved before schedule included completion of the viaduct construction and the tunnelling.
Meanwhile, construction is progressing on the Rashidiya Station and a car-park behind the station, which will be able to accommodate about 3,000 vehicles. The Rashidiya car-park is one of two car-parks on the Red Line; the second being located at Jumeirah Islands Station. There will be one more car-park on the Green Line at Al Qusais, accommodating 6,000 cars.
