Dubai Municipality won three awards in the annual Cityscape Architectural Awards, which ran as part of last month’s Cityscape 2008 exhibition, under the category of Islamic Architecture.
The awards were won for three projects: renovation of old mosques in Shindagha, revitalisation of Dubai’s old suqs, and revitalisation of the historic Bastakiya area. Rashad Mohammed Bukhash, director of the architectural heritage department, accepted the awards on behalf of the municipality.
