Global Fastening Solutions (GFS) from the Netherlands, responsible for developing and managing some of the best-known fastening brands in the construction industry, looks forward to making its debut at the Big 5 show, at which it hopes to create greater awareness of its recently-launched Tyrex brand in the Middle East market.
GFS’ other brands that will also be on display at the show include Senco, a well-known brand for over 60 years, and Nexicor and Agrifast, which were recently introduced by the company.
At the show, the company will also be seeking potential partners in a bid to penetrate the market. Launched two years back in the US and a year ago in Europe, the Tyrex brand delivers innovative, premium-quality professional tools and fasteners for concrete and steel applications, according to marketing manager, Kim van der Wel.
“Offering a range of collated screw systems, as well as concrete pinners, Tyrex represents the future in concrete and steel fastening,” he says. “It is quickly proving itself to be an ideal solution for professionals working in residential construction, as well as the construction of commercial buildings, hospitals, schools and highways.”
As an example, he turns to Tyrex’s new gas-powered fastening system (TY150GSC), which is used for fastening of drywall tracks, wood furring, hat channels, ceiling grid to concrete and concrete block and steel applications.
“The new gas-powered fastening system works five times faster than powder-actuated systems,” he says.
Among the wide range of new and innovative products under the Tyrex brand, GFS will be laying special emphasis on its gas-operated concrete pinner and the steel-to-steel screw systems at the Big 5.
GFS launched Tyrex last March in Europe at the ‘Practical World’ trade show in Cologne, Germany. Its participation helped the company establish a complete distribution system set-up for Europe. GFS is now hoping to repeat the results for this region through the Big 5.
“Given the aggressive plans within GFS, we have identified several regions of the world for future growth, including the Middle East region. Though we have set up Tyrex’s presence in the US and Europe, we haven’t established any network in the Middle East region. We were looking for a platform where we could meet potential partners who can help us set up our network in the Middle East and we believe the Big 5 show will provide such a venue,” says van der Wel.
GFS has undergone a structural change in recent years, with a new holding company established in the Netherlands in March this year that focuses solely on the export market. Its head office was set up in Cincinatti Ohio, US two years ago.
All its brands, according to van der Wel, are market-focused. “Our brands deliver a variety of diverse fastening products; being focused on the customer, they are capable of meeting the unique requirements of companies in a broad range of industries.”
One of its best-known brands is Senco, a leader in power fastening systems for wood-to-wood applications, for nearly 60 years. The Senco brand provides high-quality tools, fasteners, compressors and accessories for many different applications, including residential construction and remodelling, furniture, cabinet, pallets and in plant housing, according to him. “The Senco brand has long been recognised around the world as one which its customers can depend on,” he points out.
The Nexicor brand offers professionals a number of innovative fastening systems and solutions, including cool induction heating systems, adhesives, foams and sealants. “Its Sinch technology,” he says, “is a patented system which ‘fastens’ through means of a unique technology, which enables the installer to reverse the process if necessary. Products incorporating this technology are at work in the professional carpeting and roofing industries. In addition, NexiBond, DuraShield and DuraFoam products within the range are being used for a variety of demanding applications around the world.”
Its AgriFast brand represents a broad line of products for use in the agricultural industry, including tools, fasteners and other unique items for use in vineyards, floraculture/horticulture facilities and greenhouses, and nurseries.
