Danube Building Materials, a leading player in the construction industry, has announced 50 per cent growth in revenue for 2006 and expects to continue its strong growth over this year in a bid to cross Dh1 billion ($272 million) in revenues by 2008.

“Danube has consistently achieved 30 per cent growth for the past decade, cementing its credentials as a major player in the regional building materials market, and has attributed the impressive results to the development of a strong network across the region,” says a company spokesman.
Founded in 1993, the Dubai-based company is on an expansion track with plans to open several new branches across the region in an attempt to capture a sizable share of the growing market. The expansion initiative has been prompted by the increased pace of business activity generated by Danube during the past few years, which has seen the company venture into Bahrain and Mumbai, India, and further expand its Muscat, Oman, operations in 2006.
