Caterpillar has awarded Saudi-based Zahid Tractor its five-star Contamination Control Initiative (CCI) award.
Caterpillar vice-president Paolo Fellin recently led a Caterpillar delegation to Zahid’s facility for the presentation. “The award marks a major milestone in Zahid Tractor’s efforts towards customer service excellence,” says product support manager Rennie Mackrory.
The CCI programme was developed by Caterpillar to improve cleanliness levels and reduce contamination by foreign matter, according to Mackrory.
“The programme’s objective is to have, at the time of assembly or rebuilding, a cleaner component internally, resulting in less early hour failures, longer component life and therefore a lower per hour cost for the customer,” he adds.
Zahid Tractor embarked on the CCI programme in 2003. Through audits from both Zahid and Caterpillar, the company improved its facilities to earn the prestigious title.
Zahid Eastern Region manager Steven Meyrick says the company has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to customer service excellence, through the programme.
“We aim to provide superior value to our customers by optimising machines’ systems productivity and reliability throughout the products’ life cycle and avoid component failures,” he adds. “While every job site and application is unique, component life can be significantly increased when maintenance and contamination are managed aggressively, resulting in lower operating costs.”
Zahid Tractor’s executive vice president Fahad Y Zahid says the company is proud to be among the first Caterpillar dealers worldwide to successfully embark upon and complete the CCI prerequisites at the Dammam and Jubail facilities. “Caterpillar’s recognition is a testament to our commitment and conscientious effort in minimising environmental pollution at our premises and continued pursuit towards lowering our customers’ total operating costs,” he notes.
