Within a span of three years, Mammut Building Systems has established a strong foothold in the Saudi Arabian market, executing major projects in various parts of the kingdom, says area sales manager (Riyadh office), Ayman Refaat of the Dubai-based pre-engineered building systems (PBS) specialist.

“Mammut has grown immensely since it made its first entry into the Saudi Arabia market in April 2003 and is presently regarded as one of the major steel building suppliers in the kingdom,” says Refaat. “It now has sales staff in three different offices in the Eastern, Western and Central regions of the kingdom servicing its clients.”
“We have not only worked on some of most prestigious projects but have also managed to obtain the seal of approval for our PEBs from governmental departments including the Ministry of Interior – Civil Defence, the General Authority for Vocational Training and Technical Education, the Ministry of Health and the General Authority of Civil Aviation.”
Within this short span, Mammut has handled some impressive projects including the new mill in Jubail for Hadeed, a subsidiary of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), Al Rajhi Rebar Factory, Arabian Pipe Factory (which has large spans and incorporates heavy cranes), workshops for Bisha airport and numerous other showrooms and workshops around the kingdom.
Outlining the reasons behind the company’s success in the market, Refaat says: “Mammut’s rapid growth in the Saudi market has been possible not just because of its fast response to enquiries, good quality and attractive prices but also due to exceptional after-sales service, supporting the clients right from the time we are awarded the contract to building handover.
“Mammut’s unique technical support and site supervision by its experienced civil engineers during the erection process is instrumental in gaining repeat orders from satisfied clients.”
Technological advancement and the precision of its quoting process has been Mammut’s edge over the competition and has helped the company in attaining the status of being a major supplier in the region, he adds.
From its highly automated 30,000 sq m factory in the UAE, Mammut gives the fastest and most accurate quotations and proposals in the industry.
“Simple buildings can be priced in under 24 hours and many can be priced while a client waits in the local Mammut sales office,” he points out.
Refaat continues: “The combination of one of the most efficient, modern factories in the region and the use of the latest, specially-developed design software gives the customer a product that is monitored at every stage to meet the highest standards of quality. Clear approval drawings allow the customer to visualise the project and the use of three-dimensional computer modelling creates error-free connection details, making Mammut buildings absolutely problem-free in erection.
“Detailed manufacturing drawings are produced and the building is fabricated in as little as five weeks from the time the customer gives approval. Mammut’s erection supervisors then follow up with the client’s chosen contractor at each stage, from the setting out of anchor bolts to the fixing of the last trims.
“Even after handover of the building Mammut’s services are not over and its computer records of each project are available, should the customer wish to add some feature or make an alteration to building at a later stage.”
“This comprehensive approach to serving customers and delivering buildings with the fewest problems possible has won Mammut the trust of many valued clients throughout Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the region,” he concludes.
