Raghadan has been involved in some of the major projects in the kingdom.

On the back of a good year in business, Riyadh-based Raghadan Paint Company – one of the largest indigenous paint company in the GCC – has recently embarked on expansion plans that entail opening new facilities and appointing further agents and distributors in the region.

In a bid to meet the rising demand brought on by the construction boom in the region, the company has recently expanded its manufacturing facilities to produce a new range of construction finishes such as sealants, adhesives and grouts for tiles and ceramics, coloured cement finishes, crack and gyps fillers.
“Raghadan intends to continue expanding both its manufacturing facilities as well as its distribution network to continue serving our customers throughout the GCC,” says Hisham Ali, sales and marketing director of Raghadan Paint Company.
The company’s scope of activities covers the entire spectrum of the paint business including manufacturing, sales, distribution, export, import, design, application and supervision.
Commenting on the market, he says: “With the Saudi market growing rapidly and showing further promise, we expect a lot of projects to be released over the next few years. Business has been growing year on year despite the fact that some of the funds that would have been spent on construction were channelled into the stock market. The future looks promising, with many big projects already launched such as the SR1 billion King Abdullah Economic City, which should keep the sector busy for the next 10 years.”
Raghadan’s painting expertise has been used in several landmark projects in Saudi Arabia such as the Kingdom Centre, Al Faisaliah Centre, Royal family palaces of Saudi Arabia, Hamra Village Theme Park, Al Hokair Disneyland, Four Seasons Riyadh Hotel, Sheraton Riyadh Hotel, Inter-Continental Hotel in Ahsa, Al Belaad Bank head office Building and Obeid Hospital in Riyadh and Dr Suliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah, among others.
The company is also the official paint supplier and applier for the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain and has worked in collaboration with top contractors in the kingdom.
The company continues to execute several prestigious projects not only in Saudi Arabia but also through the entire GCC region.
In the kingdom, the company is currently involved in an interesting landmark project: Under a SR1 million paint deal, Raghadan is currently engaged on a European-style palace located on a 30,000 sq m plot on a hill in Riyadh.
“Our professional Filipino team of painters is currently engaged in creating special marble-effect finishes for both the interior and exterior,” he explains.
Wardit Al Salhiah Company is the main contractor for this project.
“We have also just painted the prestigious Olympic village and stadium in Qatar,” Ali points out.
Its recent project portfolio also includes palaces for the Royal family of Saudi Arabia as well as villas and palaces for the private sector.
To further expand its reach in the market, Raghadan is set to participate in Project Qatar 2006, a leading building trade exhibition that is scheduled to take place in Doha this month (May 1 to 4). Within the Saudi sector in Hall 1 (Stand 16), the company will showcase its innovative product range to the market. Raghadan is also set to promote its products at other international exhibitions this year, in Sudan, Syria, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia.
Established in 1974, Raghadan has grown over the past three decades into a highly competitive player and leader in paint manufacturing, architectural, decorative and industrial coatings.
Ali attributes the growth of the company to the dedication, hard work and positive outlook of all its founding members. "In addition, we have been ensuring that we provide the best quality and customer service at the most competitive prices,” he says.
It currently has a workforce of 1,000 employees with a network of three paint factories in both Saudi Arabia and Egypt, six paint companies in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt and a regional office in London-UK, totalling about 15 branches, 20 agents and 500 distributors spread throughout the Arab world.
