Saudi Scaffolding Factory (SSF) is preparing for new market challenges as it expands its operations across Saudi Arabia.
The company was one of the first licensed scaffolding manufacturers and suppliers in Saudi Arabia and has continued to maintain its leading role in product design and service across the kingdom. SSF was also one of the first Gulf companies to comply and adopt Saudi Aramco’s scaffolding guidelines.
Some of the major projects where SSF scaffolding were used were for Jubail United Petrochemical Company, Saudi Chevron, Saudi Iron and Steel Company (Hadeed), Petrokemya, Saudi Basic Industries Company (Sabic), Gulf Farabi, Saudi Fertiliser Company (Safco), gas plants at Hawiyah and Haradh, Yanbu Refinery and Al Mashrik’s Wadi Hanifah.
According to an SSF spokesman, the company will continue to experience double-digit sales percentage gains over the next decade.
“Saudi Arabia’s construction scene is witnessing remarkable activity,” he states. “Several mega projects have been announced in oil and gas, infrastructure, utilities, industries and petrochemicals. This is coupled with the growth in the housing and hospitality industry, which has given considerable impetus to the demand for building materials.”
He says all indications are that this trend will continue well into the next decade.
“High oil prices are giving the government more money to spend on education, medical, transportation and utility projects that couldn’t be undertaken before,” he continues. “This, in turn, is stimulating employment opportunities for the steadily growing domestic workforce.”
SSF continues to provide robust and economical scaffolding designs, which are thoroughly tested and assembled to guarantee adequate load bearing and safety. The company’s scaffolding systems are competitively priced and backed with timely delivery and installation support.
SSF’s new systems offer the flexibility and strength of traditional scaffolding with the simplicity and mobility of tower systems. This unique combination provides the ultimate access system that can be utilised across manufacturing and process industries, says the spokesman, who adds that his customers can now buy SSF systems without any shipping or import hassle.
“This will provide a tremendous growth opportunity,” he assesses. “Now, with blue-chip customers and Gulf-wide availability, I expect to see further exciting sales growth.”
He says the company works hard to meet stringent requirements. “Our scaffolding systems are backed by research and development using the latest design software,” he adds. 'To ensure conformity to required standards, both in-house and third party product testing is conducted regularly.”
Testimonials back the spokesman's claims. Progressive Construction Company director KT Rao is in charge of two dam projects in the Western Province. “We started using single-sided dam climbing formwork from two suppliers for the Rabigh project,” Rao explains. “Having testing both the systems on site, we decided to go ahead only with SSF for the Hali project and we found that the company’s interest and technical support was maintained throughout the job. They have also supplied to our projects in Qatar and Sudan as well.”
The spokesman says, besides the success in the scaffolding sector, his company's roll-formed products, including steel profiles for drywall partitions, suspended ceiling systems and expanded metal profiles, plaster beads and plastering accessories, are gaining wider acceptance across the Gulf.
SSF is also a market leader in the supply and installation of powered access equipment and building maintenance units manufactured by Tractel, a world leader in this field.
Looking to the future, the company remains confident it will meet the demands of a vibrant market for the supply of technically sound and economical scaffolding designs, with assured quality of tested products and a prompt delivery schedule.
Saudi Scaffolding Factory, established in 1983, is a part of Bina Group of companies, which is the building materials unit of the ABT Group, one of the pioneers of cement import and distribution in Saudi Arabia. ABT is owned by the Xenel Group, which is among the oldest and successful business houses in the kingdom.
