
A consortium led by the local Mohammed Abdul Mohsin Al Kharafi and Sons and including Ionics and Bechtel of the US and the UK's United Utilities has presented the lowest bid of about $390 million for the Sulaibiya wastewater treatment and reclamation plant project.
The 30-year build-operate-transfer (BOT) project aims to produce some 375,000 cu m of water per day in its first phase. Other groups which prequalified for the project include consortia led by International Projects Development Company and Al Ghanim.
