Tenders have been invited for a major component of construction works on the ongoing Al Ghurair Retail City project in Dubai, UAE. This package entails the construction of one office tower and two serviced apartment buildings, which will together have 196 apartments. There will also be a three-storey shopping mall, with the top floor dedicated for a cinema.
The entire development costing a total of Dh1.4 billion ($381.5 million) is scheduled for opening in the second half of 2002.
Meanwhile, work is under way on the 10-level north park garage with sections of it due to become operational within a month. A 600-seater aquatic themed food court is also due for completion shortly.
Construction of a second multistorey car-park is due to start in the second half of 2001.
