Leading Dubai-based aluminium extruder Gulf Extrusions Company has announced that it has installed two new extrusion presses, as part of a capacity expansion programme aimed at increasing annual output at its Jebel Ali plant to 65,000 tonnes by June this year.
The plant's existing four presses currently produce 30,000 tonnes of aluminium extrusion profiles per year.
Robert Holtkamp, director sales and marketing, said: “The addition of our new presses will enable Gulf Extrusions Company to meet escalating demand for high-quality aluminium extrusion products resulting from the vigorous pace at which construction and developmental activities are progressing in the UAE and the GCC region. Increased production will also allow us to cater to growing demand for superior cost-effective profiles emanating from the European markets and Africa.'
With its four existing presses of 800 tonnes, 1,600 tonnes and 2,800 tonnes as well as three paint and anodising lines, the plant is designed to produce aluminium sections in mill, silver, gold, bronze and colour anodised (spectrum colours), and powder-coated finishes, and has emerged as a single source supplier to all its customers.
'With our team of highly-qualified employees, a vast array of designs and stringent quality norms, Gulf Extrusions is the preferred aluminium supplier for many of the region's prestigious projects. These new presses will help us to ensure timely delivery of our high-quality aluminium products and services and increase our market share,' Holtkamp added.
Reputed for its strict adherence to quality standards, Gulf Extrusions holds the ISO9001 certification for its quality management system and the ISO14000 certification for environmental management systems, and is a recipient of the Qualanod and Qualicoat quality labels, he points out. The domestic building and construction industry consumes almost 70 per cent of the company's output while products are also exported to Europe, Canada, the Middle East and North Africa region and South East Asian countries.
Part of the Al Ghurair Group of Companies, Gulf Extrusions is located close to its raw materials supplier, Dubai Aluminium (Dubai) and is in close proximity to the Jebel Ali seaport. The company produces more than 8,000 profiles ranging from architectural sections and components for household items to air-conditioner grills and customised products. It also extrudes products of several European system suppliers and companies.
