The UAE-based Rasana Contracting Company has recently completed its structural roofing contract at the Madinah Jumeirah resort, adding to the list of prestigious contracts it has completed since its inception more than three decades ago.

Under its contract, the engineering and design firm fabricated and installed structural roofing for the banqueting hall, junior ballroom and the pre-function area, involving a total of 600 tonnes of steel, says a spokesman for the company.
Rasana has witnessed a steady growth despite intense competition in the vibrant construction and contracting sectors of the Gulf, especially in the UAE. Since its inception in 1971, the company has successfully completed several prestigious contracts involving structural steel work, including major federal and local government projects in the various UAE emirates.
In 1994, the firm set up a new company, Rasana Engineering Industries Company, which enabled it to undertake design and fabrication of projects of varying complexity including space frames, slab decks, roof cladding as well as entrance features.
“Rasana Engineering Industries Company, which has brought together a highly professional engineering and design team, has enabled the company to design and fabricate any project, irrespective of its nature and size,” the spokesman adds. ‘‘In addition, Rasana has a factory in Sharjah – staffed by more than 100 professionals and qualified technical hands – allowing it to successfully cater to the various construction and design requirements, of the local market. Besides the managerial personnel, the company has an entire team of erection staff.’’
Among the prestigious projects carried out by the ISO-certified company are the Al Khaleej Sugar Store, Lamcy Plaza and Emirates New Technical Centre, all in Dubai; Sharjah Expo Centre, Sharjah University (hall) in Sharjah; and Al Manar Mall in Ras Al Khaimah.
The company’s activities have not been limited to the emirate alone, but have expanded beyond. Rasana has expanded its operations throughout the emirates with branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and is also undertaking projects in neighbouring Gulf countries including Qatar, Kuwait and Oman.
