LW Design Group, a leading Dubai-based design practice, is set to complete its projects at the Madinat Jumeirah shortly.
Having designed both the Al Nafoorah and the Noodle House restaurants at Emirates Towers, LW Design and Jumeirah Intenational (the client for both) are not strangers.
“Every venue on LW Design’s project list has a unique personality – each playing a different role in the sensational Madinat resort,” says a company spokesman. “We are definitely delighted to be a part of this impressive project.”
One of the largest, and most eye-catching projects designed by the company within the Madinat Jumeirah is the nightclub building situated at the gateway to the Suq Madinat Jumeirah.
The nightclub occupies the ground and first levels of the three-level building while a jazz club and Cajun fish restaurant are housed within the lower ground floor.
A fusion of classic Arabic architecture with stunning, modern aspects creates a dynamic setting for the nightclub, which tends to surprise and delight the senses, says the spokesman.
The glass surrounding the impressive Moroccan entrance provides a peek into the excitement contained within the structure. Globes, comprising triangular panes of glass that are melded together, are suspended from the first floor balcony, providing an ideal setting within the atrium and the hip dance floor below. A level above the nightclub is the Moroccan-style rooftop bar.
The lower ground floor houses the new Cajun fish restaurant. Innovative finishes, including blonde zebrano wood, create a graceful ambience for high-class dining. The light theme contrasts with the dark woods of the jazz club next door, where a monochrome theme mixes with subtle African influences. This culturally rich feel is reflected in the luxurious textures and finishes that fill the bar, explains the spokesman.
A little further away from the suq is Dubai’s second Noodle House restaurant, which is also in the final stages of completion.
While the successful theme from the first version located at Emirates Towers has been retained, this new outlet exudes a different feel. A little less structured in layout than its sister outlet, this new Noodle House features a grid of ceiling beams and columns that crisscross above the ethnic-style eatery.
Towards the sea side of the project, LW Design is working on a modern-style bar with a wharf-side feel. The urban theme is reflected in the eclectic mix of materials and cool airiness. Exposed beams, slate and stonework create the backdrop for smart finishes and stylish seating. Situated at the end of the suq, it offers the right ambience for visitors to unwind and gaze at the picturesque lake, the spokesman adds.
The firm, which started operations in 1999, has been growing steadily, expanding its skills to meet rapidly changing customer demands.
Since its inception, the company has adopted an integrated approach to the development and delivery of hospitality concepts. The business has been developed to allow seamless collaboration at every stage of the project, creating synergy between the various designers involved. The three key divisions – LW Interiors, LW Architects and LW Graphics – unite their expertise to create a vision that is consistent through every detail, from floor plans and finishes, to logos and uniforms, says the spokesman.
The 45-strong team at the Dubai office works in synergy to deliver projects for clients across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
“LW Design has a reputation for creating innovative ideas and delivering them in a highly professional manner. And we work hard to live up to this reputation,” he adds.
