Construction work on Kraft Foods’ latest $40 million plant at the Bahrain Investment Park is progressing as per schedule and the facility will be fully operational by January 2008, says a spokesman for the company.

Kraft Foods started the construction of the 60,000 sq m plant in January this year.
“The project team from Kraft Foods is working round the clock to make sure that the plant will be completed on schedule,” said Patrick Satamian, managing director of Kraft Foods GCC. “The foundation of the plant has already been completed and the steel construction will commence shortly.”
He added: “The plant will utilise the latest manufacturing equipments available from Germany and the US to meet Kraft Food’s global standards and to provide the highest quality products in the region.”
Once complete, the Kraft Foods plant in Bahrain will be one of the largest food and beverage factories in the GCC exporting cheese and powdered beverages to the Middle East region.
