Plans for Sunset Hills, a new BD37.8 million ($100 million) project to come up within the Al Areen Development in Bahrain, were announced last month.
The developers also announced the award of a $53 million contract, to Bahraini company Ahmed Mansour Al A’ali (AMA). The contract will involve the main construction works and also the required infrastructure.
The project is being promoted by Abu Dhabi Investment House (ADIH) and Kuwait-based Sorooh Investment Company. Dheya Towfiqi Engineering Bureau is the project consultant and the project will be managed by Bonyan International.
The mixed-use venture will be home to a self-sustained community with a mix of residential and commercial facilities such as luxury villas, town houses, terraced apartments, and apartment blocks for shops and residences.
“Scheduled for completion in 2009, the project will cover approximately 200,000 sq m at Al Areen’s southern gateway, and offer a built-up area of 44,000 sq m.”
The project will comprise 300 residential units, which will include villas, town houses, luxury apartments, multi-purpose buildings and a club house.
