
International Rubber Company (IRC), a subsidiary of M’Sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments, has been awarded a major contract to supply rubber gaskets and silicone sealant for the West Bay Lagoon Plaza development in Doha, Qatar.
The deal, which commenced in May, appoints IRC to supply rubber gaskets for the exterior walls of the development to form a seal against air, water and wind infiltration, in addition to providing silicone sealant for structural glazing applications.
Construction on the West Bay Lagoon Plaza is expected to be finished in 2008, at a total cost of Dh80 million ($13.6 million).

The contract represents the latest international acquisition for the company, which currently supplies products to major developments in Singapore, Qatar, England and Saudi Arabia. IRC was recently honoured by receiving a Dubai Quality Appreciation Program Award from the Department of Economic Development.
