Unimix has shattered the record for the largest single concrete pour in the UAE by completing a pour of 11,000 cu m of concrete for the raft of the Torch tower in a record time of 26-plus hours.

Fosroc Admixture (Conplast SP491) was used to give it the required strength and flow characteristics.
The project will be the first to use C100 (compressive strength of 100N/sq mm) concrete in the UAE.
“The design requirements of this tower is very high and the project manager is very thrilled with the achievement,” said an Al Gurg Fosroc spokesman.
The tower is being built for the Select Group by Dubai Civil Engineering and National Engineering Bureau is the consultant for the project.
The 345 m tower will offer a built-up area of 111,832 sq m and will be elevated by three basements and a four-storey podium block. The tower will have 74 storeys and contain 504 apartment units with 128 one-bedroom, 128 two-bedroom, 68 three-bedroom, and four duplex apartment suites ranging from 904 to 1,712 sq ft.
