Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has offered Fisia Italimpianti a $247 million contract to build a desalination plant at Jebel Ali, Dubai. Fisia Italimpianti is a unit of the Italian construction company Impregilo.
The company already received two contracts earlier this year from Dewa to build desalination plants. Since the beginning of the year, Fisia Italimpianti has obtained $1.5 billion worth of orders for desalination plants, including the Dubai ones.
Impregilo, one of Italy’s largest construction groups, said the three plants would have a production capacity of about 640 million litres of potable water a day.
