
Bawadi, a member of Tatweer, has announced a joint venture with Al Ghurair Investment to develop the biggest shopping mall at a cost of Dh10 billion ($2.7 billion) within the project.
Phase 1 of the shopping mall is set to be completed by 2012, and will cover a gross leasable area (GLA) of four million sq ft.
The innovative and uniquely designed, top-notch shopping mall will be one of the largest within the biggest shopping area in the world, and will add a new dimension to the variety of services and facilities offered by Bawadi, said an Al Ghurair spokesman.
The Bawadi Project will cost $27 billion and will be located just outside of Dubai City. Construction, which will be done in stages, will take approximately eight years and will result in a total of more than 30 hotels and 29,000 hotel rooms, many of which will be in the four and five-star categories.
