Asound business partnership with growth-oriented clients such as the Al Basti & Muktha (ABM) group has ensured the continued success of Verger et Delporte UAE, a Sharjah-based specialist in low-voltage (LV) switchgear over the past quarter of a century.
“In the last 25 years, Verger has successfully completed and exceeded the expectations of its clients. The company has registered 15 to 20 per cent growth per year, mainly due to its beneficial relationship with partners such as the ABM Group. Certainly, we would like to carry on this association and explore every opportunity available in the new booming economic conditions of the UAE,” says a spokesman for Verger.
Over the years, the company has achieved an impressive portfolio, including some of the most prestigious projects done by top developers in the UAE, a few other GCC countries and further afield.
The Bur Juman Centre, Al Ghurair Centre, Dubai Airport extension, ASAB accommodation complex, 21st Century Tower, Media City Phase III, General Hospital, Dubai Internet City Phase III, Emaar headquarters, Jebel Ali Container Glass Factory, and Dubai Duty Free Warehouse, all in Dubai; Gasco (Abu Dhabi Gas Industries) headquarters, Abu Dhabi Industrial City, and Al Raha Beach Resort Abu Dhabi; Kalba Hospital (Sharjah); Arco Al Rayyan Oil Development (Qatar); and Chamera hydroelectric project in Himachal Pradesh, India, are a few names in the long list of our achievements,” he says.
“The list continues to include names such as Adnoc (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), Gasco, Adco (Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations), Adgas (Abu Dhabi Gas liquefaction Company), Adnoc Distribution, Adma-Opco (Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company), Tabreed, Emaar, Dubai Civil Aviation, Dubai Municipality; and Public Works Departments, Ministry of Electricity and Water, Ministry of Defence of the UAE,” he adds.
Verger et Delporte – which has its head office in the industrial area of Sharjah – has four operational divisions:
• Electrical and mechanical contracting;
• Switchgear manufacturing;
• Electrical trading; and
• Information technology.
Its core activity is the manufacture and supply of LV switchgear conforming to the standards specified by Schneider (Modicon, Merlin Gerin and Telemecanique), with whom the company has had a franchising agreement since its inception.
“Schneider trains Verger’s personnel regularly and monitors the quality of the products delivered. High-rise buildings, the industrial sector, water and infrastructure projects are some of the division’s potential clients,” the spokesman points out.
Switchboards made to client’s specification have been installed in hospitals, hypermarts, schools, hospitals, universities, water supply and irrigation facilities and others.
“While we have been directly involved in developing the infrastructure of the UAE, we also export to other GCC countries. Our business has been growing steadily and we expect to maintain these levels in the future as well,” he continues.
“For Verger, client satisfaction is a top priority. This is the reason why the company has opened branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, apart from its Sharjah head office,” he points out.
The company’s switchgear division is divided into five sections marketing/sales, design office, production, quality inspection/after-sales and materials. The production/materials department has a shop floor area of 800 sq m, and a 900 sq m warehousing facility with an inventory including 5,000 items.
The entire production process is documented through auto-control sheets and all machines and equipment are carefully monitored so as to ensure a consistency in performance. Even the crimping, cutting, stripping tools as well as torque wrenches are internally verified with logged results for traceability purposes and by certified laboratories, he says.
The switchgear division offers a wide selection of low-voltage switchgear, including main LV switchboards, sub-main LV switchboards, LV switchgear for industrial control and automation, motor control centres, automatic capacitor banks, final distribution boards, control panels, feeder pillars, automatic source changeover switch, generator synchronising and load management panels.
In addition, the company has computerised its marketing/sales, design office, materials control and production sections to facilitate faster communication and reduce delivery time.
