Saudi Guardian International Float Glass Company (GulfGuard) has redefined the concepts of mirror quality and performance with the introduction of its high performance Ultra Mirror, according to the Jubail-based company.

The product is a result of extensive efforts to produce the world's most beautifully reflective and durable mirrors, says marketing manager Mohammed Khattab.

"A standard mirror has to combat daily attacks from environmental and climatic factors," he explains. "These range from the widely-used ammonia-based household cleaners, that cause those ugly black erosion marks at the edges of standard mirrors, to humidity, that gradually degrades the general appearance and reflective clarity of the mirror's surface. In addition, the adhesive products used to install mirrors have been proven to attack their protective coatings. "Unfortunately, conventional, off-the-shelf mirrors have been defenceless when it comes to such attacks."

Ultra Mirror is guaranteed to retain its appearance and high performance level for its lifespan, according to the company.

"When purchasing GulfGuard's Ultra Mirror you are buying into years of experience from the world's leading mirror manufacturer, coupled with the most advanced technology available in the world. These two factors combine to produce a mirror that is currently setting the benchmarks for mirror quality and performance," says Khattab.

GulfGuard, the first float glass manufacturer in the Gulf, represents a $135 million investment and was set up by a joint venture between two Saudi partners - the National Company for Glass Industries (Zoujaj) and the Eastern Company for Industrial Investment - and Guardian Middle East and Africa, a Danish subsidiary of Guardian Industries Corporation, one of the largest flat glass producers in the world.
