TIGER Profiles & Insulation (TPI) will be showcasing its latest and popular ranges of roofing and cladding systems at this year’s Big 5, its fifth participation in as many years.
The show has now become TPI’s key platform to present its latest awards, achievement, projects and developments to the regional market.
At the event, the company will be displaying its roofing and cladding systems including T-Seam standing seam systems, polyurethane (PUR)/polyisocyanurate (PIR)/mineral wool-insulated panels (sandwich panels for roofs and walls, concealed fix wall panels, cold store panels and systems, pre-insulated ventilation ducts and drywall partitions), deck profiles, roof and wall profiles, roof tiles, Z-purlins and C-channels. As the sole distributor in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, TPI will also promote Solasteel, a heat-reflecting pre-coat for metal and Solacoat, a heat-reflecting coating for exteriors.
Solasteel, which won The Big 5 exhibition’s Gaia gold award in 2008, is an environment-friendly pre-coat. The water-based acrylic coating for metal sheeting for roofs/walls and other applications was developed in the UAE through TPI’s partnership with CoolShield International of Australia, and offers significant advantages over existing pre-coated material.
TPI also won two Gaia silver awards for the environment-friendly Solacoat glossy acrylic coating and the Solacoat pavement coating.
Solacoat, from CoolShield International, is a water-based paint that provides a radiant barrier insulation coating that reduces temperature. It is a waterborne acrylic emulsion-based product which has a special membrane additive that aids in repelling the infrared rays from the sun, thus preventing heat from penetrating buildings.
Certified by EcoSpecifier International, the Solacoat product line is proven to radiate up to 80 per cent of the infrared (heat) rays back into the environment while increasing points towards Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Green Star certification and rating, she says.
The last few months have been busy for the company, which was recently awarded a major roofing contract for the iconic King Abdul Aziz Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (Kapsarc) in Riyadh. Other projects include the supply of decking for the Qatar World Trade Centre in Doha, Qatar; completion of Al Ain University (also known as the University of the UAE) and the Al Barsha Mall in Dubai and others.
Meanwhile, TPI has also been recognised for its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), winning the first runner-up award in the small company category at the Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility Awards held last month in Dubai, says Rosy Salameh, assistant CEO for the UAE-based company.
Tiger Profiles has also become a member and supporter of the United Nations Global Compact, a policy initiative for businesses which are committed to human rights, the environment and the fight against corruption, she adds.
Furthermore, the company has been invited by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce to become one of the founding members of the Gulf Business Council for Sustainable Development. It is a member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), and the Emirates Environmental Group.
Established in 1993 as the cladding arm of the 40-plus-year-old Tiger Steel Group of Companies, TPI is a one-stop shop that caters to its diverse markets through its three plants, efficiently serving the GCC, Middle East, Asia and Africa’s needs for its specialised products and systems. TPI has expanded into many territories and is now selling in Australia, Belgium, Italy, Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and Kenya.
It has been involved with a number of prestigious projects including T-Seam roofing for the ice skating ring in Dehradoon, India, Al Barsha Mall and Meydan receiving barns complex, Dubai, Al Ain University and College of Business Studies, girls campus in Kuwait; tapered T-Seam roofing for Paragon Mall project on Reem Island in Abu Dhabi; decking panels for Burj Khalifa, Dubai, and Emirates Aluminium Company (Emal); and decking profiles for a flyover on Wahda Street, Sharjah. It has also supplied roofing for Masdar Institute of Technology, and Solacoat eco-friendly heat reflecting coating for Bab Al Qasr Hotel and serviced apartments in Abu Dhabi.
Commenting on quality, Salameh says TPI has raised the bar with standards that surpass those of other competitors and its adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 1400 and OHSAS 18001 is indicative of the company’s commitment to excellence.
Tiger Profiles will be present at the Main Concourse, Stand MC 511 at The Big 5.
