

AL MUQARRAM Insulation Industry (AMI) comes to The Big 5 show with more than a decade of experience in the silicone and adhesives manufacturing sector and aims to impress with its extensive line of products that it continues to expand.
In fact, at the show, the company will put the focus on its innovative spirit by highlighting some of its new products that are in the development and testing stage.
The Sharjah-based company’s product range comprises acetoxy general-purpose silicone sealant, high-temperature sealants, neutral Oxime sealants, acrylic sealants, Bopp (biaxially oriented polypropylene) tapes of all kinds included printed tapes, masking and surface protection tapes and aluminium and duct tapes.
The company has participated at previous Big 5 events and received overwhelming response, according to Safdar Badami, managing director.

“The events were very well organised. We obtained some good leads and were also able to convert some of the potential clients into permanent customers,” he says. “The exposure to the world of construction and building materials is the key factor that influenced our decision to participate. Also it gives us an idea about other competitive products in the market.”
At the exhibition, AMI will showcase three new products it is currently working on. These include the environment-friendly MS Sealants, polysulphide sealants and alkoxy silicone sealant for structural glazing.
“While MS Sealants are at the testing stage, the other two are still under development. The products are due to be launched over the next six months. The company also plans to start aerosol production by early 2012.

“Introduction of the new products will allow us to compete side by side with top European and American companies,” he says, adding that AMI is always looking to increase market awareness to enable it expand into various markets.
Established in Sharjah in 2000, AMI today employs 50 staff and 120 labourers and registers an annual turnover of more than $35 million.
Commenting on the market and the company’s business, he says: “We have survived the rollercoaster of business in the domestic market and have done well this year compared with last year. We achieved a growth of 15 per cent last year and we are very confident that the way we have planned this year, we are looking at a growth of about 25 per cent at least.

“We have acquired a number of new exclusive agents and have managed to expand our area of operation by opening offices in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, and North America. We have expanded our production capacity as well by purchasing one six-colour offset printing machine and a new RTV filling line and a state-of-the-art adhesive tapes new slitting machine.”
The company sees good prospects for growth over the next year, being particularly confident about its performance in Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar markets.
Some of the projects the company has been involved with include Doha International Airport (Terminal 3) in Qatar, projects at Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi and Makkah Clock Tower in Saudi Arabia.
