“At the show, we will be introducing Atlantis Solutions, which are water management and environmental solutions targeted at municipalities and governmental sectors involved in environmental issues and flood management, real-estate developers, architects and engineering consultation firms, and big construction companies,” he says.
Manufactured by Atlantis of Australia, Atlantis Solutions is used in landscaping, roof gardens, vertical gardens, multidirectional rain drainage in roads and many other applications, infiltration tanks and stormwater harvesting. Atlantis is a leading international provider of water management solutions. With offices and partners around the world, it integrates consulting and the supply of innovative technologies to develop total environmental solutions for urban stormwater management.
Although BRG supplies a diverse range of products, at Saudi Build it will put the spotlight on geotextiles and geogrids, HDPE (high-density polyethylene) waterproofing materials, artificial turfs, dumpers, concrete mixers and road sweepers, polyurethanes and polyurea, and several decorative materials.
BRG supplies geotextiles and geogrids, manufactured by Edilfloor, Italy, which are designed for use in the construction of roads, landfills, lagoons, dams, channels, tunnels, soil stabilisation, among other applications. Its HDPE waterproofing materials, both standard and coloured, are produced by Atarfil, Spain, and are used in building waterproofing as well as other construction applications such as ponds, lagoons, and landfills. The artificial turfs, manufactured by Beco of Germany, are suitable for playgrounds and stadium.
BRG offers dumpers, concrete mixers, road sweepers, manufactured by Piquersa Maquinaria, Spain; and polyurethanes and polyurea from Hepce Chem, South Korea, which are used for waterproofing, flooring and sports fields.
BRG’s wide knowledge of all facets of construction and technical consultations enables it to meet essential customer requirements in any building, constructions and industrial projects.
“We have been successful in meeting clients’ requirements no matter how complex or technically challenging they might be, which has made us a preferred choice for many companies,” Eid says.
BRG has been involved in numerous projects, a recent one being the supply of 3 million sq m of geotextile materials to Jeddah Municipality under a deal worth around €2 million ($2.6 million). This project was completed in the third quarter of last year.
The company is currently providing technical consultation and project management in addition to supply, implementation, testing and commissioning services for a 4,000-m, 500-mm-wide uPVC (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) pipeline, two pumping stations as well the execution, including excavation, casting and waterproofing of 5,000-cu-m and 200-cu-m concrete water tanks at the Wet Land Project in Al Aslaa Valley, east Jeddah for around SR15 million ($4 million) with Alwan Trading as the main contractor.
It is also executing a SR3 million ($800,000) contract, which involves the installation of around 5,000 m of pipeline and connection, for a huge water treatment station in the kingdom.
Other projects include supply, installation and commissioning of a number of movable truck scales for use in landfills in various areas of the kingdom for around $1 million; and supply of 15 truck-mounted road vacuum sweepers, 50 mechanical road sweepers and 30 mini-dumpers for Makkah city’s cleaning project for around €4 million ($5.36 million).
Although business levels appear to be slightly lower compared to last year – BRG recorded a turnover of $31.46 million last year, while its first half earnings for this year were $14.33 million – the company remains steadfast on its path of expansion and is opening new showrooms along with selected principals. In addition, it is planning to build two production facilities in the western region of the kingdom within the coming years.
The company expresses confidence in the country’s economy. “From our experience, we notice that the Saudi market is the most stable and safest place in the Middle East and Africa (Mena) region,” says Eid.
Established in Kuwait in 2003, BRG relocated its head office in 2008 to Jeddah. However, it maintains branches in Kuwait as well as Lebanon. BRG supplies construction and industrial plant, equipment and materials; service trucks and equipment; commercial scales; custom trailers; geotextiles and geomembranes; pumps and pipes; polyurethane and polyurea; power generators; decorative materials and furniture. It also offers solutions for water management, flood control, rain harvesting, industrial plant installation and commissioning, and low-cost housing.
“These comprise just a portion of our products and services portfolio and judging by these alone, it is apparent that we are continuously acquiring new agencies and expanding our business,” he concludes.
In addition to its distinguished partners, the company has excellent ties with some of the best materials and equipment suppliers worldwide.
The company is exhibiting at Hall 5, Stand 108-5.
