HESS Group, a regular exhibitor at Saudi Build since 2004, is back at the leading construction event this year encouraged by the positive response and its good sales performance at previous shows.
The German major, which manufactures machinery and equipment for the concrete processing industry, will promote its entire portfolio at the event. This includes batching and mixing plant, concrete pipe and manhole machinery (dry and wet cast), concrete block-making, paving stone and kerbstone machinery, autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC)-producing equipment and handling equipment.
“A long-term policy of continuous innovation and an uncompromising application of future-orientated technologies is what helps Hess maintain its current position as a major supplier to the concrete industry of complete systems on a worldwide scale,” says Ralf Beier, the company’s managing director.
Among the latest technological innovations that Hess will be exhibiting at Saudi Build are the Multimat RH 2000-3 and Multimat RH 760. The RH 2000-3 is Hess’ flagship product in a new design. This high-end machine is backed by years of experience in mechanical engineering combined with the latest advancement in technology, making it the front-runner among concrete products machines. Easy operation and maximum safety of the RH 2003-3 guarantees the highest degree of economic efficiency for the customer, he says.

The RH 760, meanwhile, is a new-generation machine from the company, which opens up new dimensions and facilitates block production in less than six seconds, says Beier. “The overall dimensions of the machine match those of the competition enabling the RH 760 to be easily erected on existing foundations. Furthermore, the machine is designed for a standard plate size of 660 by 470 mm and thanks to a special adapting device, all available moulds in stock can be re-utilised,” he says.
Beier believes that Saudi Build is an important event for the group since it has established itself as the leading fair for construction technology and building materials particularly in Saudi Arabia and since the kingdom is a vital market for Hess.
“The Middle East is one of the fastest growing regions worldwide and Saudi Arabia especially is growing fast in the business and industrial sectors. It needs to expand its construction sector to cover the demand for industrial buildings and housing projects,” he says.
In view of this scenario, Hess has focused on the Middle East as a region to promote AAC, which is also known as PAC (precast autoclaved concrete), an innovative building material that combines thermal insulation and high strength in one material.
“Hess AAC System is a supplier of technology and machinery to produce AAC. The company’s intends to promote this unique building on a wide scale in the region to enable people living here to benefits from its various advantages in terms of energy savings and enhanced living conditions,” Beier adds.
The group’s activities in the region have resulted in a contract with Dammam-based Espac Saudi Arabia for the delivery and erection of a huge AAC KBT plant for block and panel production. This fully automated plant will be the most modern of its kind in the Middle East, being fitted with equipment that will ensure the production of the highest quality of AAC products.
“The quality level of the final product will be so high that it will be a quantum leap for the building materials sector in this region,” Beier claims.
In addition to blocks, Espac will also produce panels. Hess has delivered a large and sophisticated panel production line for this purpose, which will allow production of a complete range of high-quality AAC products in large quantities.
The machinery for Espac has already been fabricated and foundation work on site is progressing fast and on schedule. Production is expected to start in the first quarter of next year.
“Espac has chosen Hess because of its machinery, convincing quality and robust design that ensures durability,” he says. “Hess is very proud to have its first huge KBT plant in Saudi Arabia and has confidence in Espac as a partner. Espac will, in cooperation with Hess, enter the building business market with AAC/PAC products.”
Hess Group is an international concrete products machine manufacturer with more than 750 employees and subsidiaries in Europe, North America, South America and Asia. The medium-term objective of the group’s business development policy is to combine its core skills in order to achieve a market-leading position in the building-material machine sector.
Hess Group will be exhibiting at Hall 2, Stand 233-2 at Saudi Build.
