GLOBAL Source Trading Establishment will seek to raise awareness about new technologies such as plastic welding at Saudi Build, where the company hopes to also seal new business ties.
The Saudi-based company will represent principals from Germany and India during its debut participation at the show which, according to business manager Sameer Subair, has grown over the years and is now among the premier league of exhibitions on the international scene.
“We will represent Germany’s BGW for precast lifting solutions, and Wegener International for plastic welding solutions, in addition to Linktech Engineering from India for plastic-encapsulated steel products,” says Subair.
“We are a Saudi establishment and the kingdom is our main market, so we are hoping to elicit good response,” he adds.
Global Source Trading’s primary product line includes equipment for lifting precast concrete elements, safety products for industrial workers, tools and equipment for plastic welding and plastic fabrication, material testing equipment for laboratories catering to the construction sector, and products used in sewage systems such as manhole ladder steps coated with plastic. “Our strength lies in our ability to provide prompt delivery, support services to customers, flexibility in dealings, and introducing products that suit market needs,” says Subair.

As part of future plans, the company is negotiating with world majors involved in material testing. “We are preparing to enter the field of material testing equipment supply in a big way and are in talks with two world majors,” says Subair.
“If all goes well, we should be a leading supplier for testing equipment for construction-based laboratories very soon,” he adds.
Despite market conditions, Global Source Trading has seen significant growth in various fields of its business.
“We have extended our plastic fabrication and welding tools business to also include turnkey solutions from thermoplastics such as setting up hot-dip galvanising plants for steel industries, and storage tanks for chemical industries in collaboration with a German company,” Subair elaborates. “At the moment, in addition to our facilities in Riyadh, we are in the process of setting up branches in Jeddah and Dammam which should happen very soon.”
According to Subair, domestic market conditions have remained strong despite the worldwide recession. “But there seems to have been an influx of new businessmen into the domestic market from neighbouring countries that have been hit hard by recession. These changes are gradually reflecting on our domestic economic equations,” he says.
The company has been involved in landmark projects throughout the kingdom. “Since we are a trading establishment, our supplies are directed at manufacturers and contractors who, in turn, are involved in prestigious projects all over the kingdom,” Subair points out. “Through our clients, our products are used all over the kingdom in various projects such as King Abdullah Economic City, Princess Nora University, Imam University, King Saud University, Almarai bakery and many prominent development and civil construction projects in Saudi Arabia. Our products are approved by ministries and muncipalities in the kingdom.”
Global Source Trading was set up in 2006 in joint venture with Linktech Engineering of India. It is headquartered in Riyadh, with production facilities in the capital and in the southern Indian city of Chennai.
The company will be present at Stand 232-1 at Saudi Build.
