Al MONA Plastic Products Factory is on an expansion drive and seen this year’s Saudi Build as a major opportunity for promoting the new developments within the company. The Riyadh-headquartered pipes and fittings manufacturer will soon launch its second factory in the Central Province as well as a new line of polyethylene pipes and fittings.

The new 800 sq m facility in Al Kharj industrial area is in addition to its existing factory in Riyadh’s Al Shifa area. The opening of this new facility will enable the company to achieve a larger market share and ensure faster delivery of products to clients, he says.

The company, which has been a regular exhibitor at SaudiBuild since 2007, is a manufacturer of PPR (polypropylene random) pipes and fittings with a total production capacity of 800 tonnes per year. PPR pipes are commonly used in potable, hot and cold water applications and various liquid distribution systems.

‘This is going to be a very good chance for us to introduce our factory and products to a wide range of companies and contractors from the kingdom and the wider region,’ says the company’s sales and marketing director Ashraf Bdeir.

At Saudi Build, in addition to displaying its existing lines of PPR pipes and fittings, the company will be introducing new polyethylene pipes and fittings with sizes from 20 mm to 250 mm. These pipes are suitable for use in a number of applications including in water supply, irrigation, communication, sewer and gas networks.

The company has seen steady growth since its inception in 1992. In line with its growth plans, Al Mona is also looking at expanding its market segment from retail to projects. “We are currently focusing on building material and plumbing outlets,” says Bdeir. “However, our next mission is to expand in the market through main contractors, civil engineering companies, engineering consultants.”

The company also plans to attain new accreditations for its products, expand its network of offices through the kingdom, and export its products to the Gulf region.
