The MaTest C089-10 Servotronic compression machine ... promoted by Al Kaabi.

AL KAABI for Testing Equipment, one of the main sources for construction materials testing equipment in Saudi Arabia, will be making a debut appearance at this year’s Saudi Build exhibition next month.

The company, which claims to be the number one supplier for SuperPave equipment in the entire Arabian Gulf area, is tight-lipped over the products it intends to launch at the show with a view to keeping the surprise element alive among visitors to the show. However, it says that it will be promoting the products of all of its principals.

Al Kaabi started its activities by promoting hi-tech products of leading US-based companies, such as Troxler Electronic Laboratories and Gilson Company. It now promotes and supports the best technologies in construction materials testing equipment from around the world.

“Within a span of 14 years, Al Kaabi was entrusted by many reputable manufacturers to market and support their products,” says Shalan M Kazak, the company’s executive manager.

The new Troxler 3440 Plus ... measures soil compaction and moisture levels.

Companies such as MaTest (Milan, Italy), Unit Test Scientific (Selangor, Malaysia), Shimadzu (Kyoto, Japan), Cooper Technologies (Ripley, UK), and Kern & Sohn (Frommern, Germany) have all placed their trust in Al Kaabi.

The product portfolio of these international manufacturers covers most of the testing equipment for aggregate and soil; bitumen and asphalt; cement and concrete; and steel and metals, says Kazak.

“With quality products in hand and a determination to satisfy customers with the best possible support services, Al Kaabi has continuously succeeded in adding to its customer list to include major clients from government agencies, universities and technical colleges, independent laboratories, construction companies, and manufacturing plants,” he says.
Its success in the market is apparent in its business levels with turnover expected to be 25 per cent higher over last year. The company has already exceeded its targets for the current year.

“With the rapid growth in the construction industry, our business is proportionally increasing,” says Kazak.

Among recent significant developments at Al Kaabi is the ability to provide non-destructive testing (NDT) services to the construction industry. This service assures that structural components and systems perform their function in a reliable and cost-effective fashion, Kazak explains.

Al Kaabi for Testing Equipment was established in 1996 with its head office in Dammam and an office in Riyadh. It employs 13 people as well as support staff shared with other sister companies. It provides selection and design of laboratory and on-site testing apparatus and software ranging from modification and adaptation of existing apparatus to the purchase of new closed-loop computer-controlled systems. The company provides a full line of computer-controlled testing systems. Each system comes with a versatile software package which provides test control, data acquisition, data reduction, and graphing in one easy-to-learn graphical user interface with context-sensitive on-line help. Testing capabilities include static and dynamic loading of soil, rock, and other construction materials.

The firm plans to open new branches in Saudi Arabia, as well as provide other types of equipment to support the booming construction industry.

Al Kaabi will be exhibiting at Stand 533-1 at Saudi Build.
