BAHRAIN-based Omega Paints and Chemical Industries has recently implemented a major revamp of its factory in a bid to increase production efficiency and improve storage facilities.
The company at Salmabad has also opened two new sales outlets at Hamad Town and Arad as part of efforts to increase its market share.
Also as part of these efforts, Omega Paints will be at gulfBID where it intends to showcase its entire scope of activities and various strengths as a local manufacturer to customers in Bahrain as well as those from across the region and the world, according to owner Hamed A Alshawi.
A highlight of its display at the show will be its heat-reflective paint – Thermocoat.

Elaborating on the work that has been carried out as part of the revamp, Alshawi says: “The whole factory has been given a new look, with a new layout for the machineries and the laboratory. We have also installed new machinery to speed up our production and make it more efficient, implemented proper storage procedures for finished products and raw materials are well-categorised for example as powders, resins, binders and solvents. The offices have also been equipped with new furniture and other utilities in line with the new developments.”
Omega Paints manufactures a wide range of products such as decorative paints for internal and external application, heat-reflective paint (Thermocoat), wood coatings (nitrocellulose, acid-cure and polyurethane), wood glue, industrial and marine paints, floor coatings, thinners and diluents, construction products such as bonding agents, mortars and plasticisers, to name a few.
“We aim to supply high-quality paints and the availability in stock of raw materials that are imported from reputed companies worldwide, enables us to meet demands for large quantities in the shortest possible time,” Alshawi says.
As all products are locally manufactured, Omega Paints says it is able to maintain a continual supply and take up any bulk orders that can be supplied within two to four days.
“Our technical department monitors the quality control and assurance system, which is certified to BS EN ISO:9001-2000,” says Alshawi.
