AS part of a major expansion plan to cover the entire Middle East, Refrigeration Industries and Storage Company (RIC) will make its debut at gulfBID next month and will put the spotlight on its latest air-conditioning units that have enabled it to ride the recession.

At the show, the company will promote its Coolex brand that includes concealed ducted splits, central ducted split air-conditioners, central package air-conditioners, air-cooled packaged chillers, air-handling units and fan coil units.
A new product that will be introduced to the Gulf market at the expo will be its concealed split unit, which is low on power consumption even at very high ambient temperatures, according to Ahmad Murad, marketing executive of the company.
The Kuwait-based company has been able to overcome the impact of slowdown and successfully increase its market share thanks to this new range of air-conditioning units as well as its state-of-the-art air-cooled chillers.
“Our products this year have been the first units to pass the stringent new regulations of Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity (MEW) for low power consumption units in high ambient temperatures,” says Murad.
RIC, which is targeting new markets in the Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Jordan, expects the regional construction industry to bounce back after a two-year slump.
“Bahrain has excellent business opportunities and we would like to be part of the current and future mega projects in the kingdom,” he adds.
RIC, established in 1973, has 1,000 employees on its rolls and enjoys an annual turnover of more than $70 million.
The company will be present at Stand 1D50.
