
KUWAIT’S Ministry of Public Works has signed a total of six contracts involving key road and construction projects worth a total of KD31 million ($107 million).
The ministry’s road engineering sector signed a KD353,691 ($1.25 million) contract for the design of the first phase of the Sabiya-Al-Abdali Road, and another worth KD1.86 million ($6.44 million) for road and sewage projects in Al Funaitis.
Other contracts included one to improve the drainage in Al Rai at a cost of KD2.08 million ($7.20 million), a KD13.08 million ($45.31 million) deal for infrastructure works in Al Mahboula, a contract to refurbish Khaitan Police Station at a cost of KD1.39 million ($4.81 million), and a refurbishment and maintenance contract for Sharq Al Ahmadi Centre worth KD11.19 million ($41.22 million).
Meanwhile, the ministry has already started inviting bids for major projects such as Bubiyan seaport, with the successful bid to be announced in July, this year.
