SAUDI ARABIA’S Khalil Abdulwahab Factory, which specialises in the manufacture of various kinds of steel and aluminium products, is looking to start up a new 22,000 sq m factory in Dammam this year to cater to the growing requirements of the Gulf region.
“We have completed the construction of our factory and are currently waiting for the machinery to arrive,” says a spokesman for the factory. “We hope to have the facility operational by the second half of this year.”
Khalil Abdulwahab Factory, which was established in 1984, is anticipating an upturn in business following a drop in business over the past year, and is confident that the new facility will help increase its market penetration.
The Jeddah-based company is considered to be one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of various hollow sections (pipes, tubes, squares), with a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes annually. It has four state-of-the-art factories, which cater to the various requirements of the steel buildings sector in Jeddah and Riyadh.
The factory, which houses one of the largest specialised plants to cater to the pre-engineered steel building industry, has been consistently and innovatively upgraded, winning the loyalty of both old and new customers, according to the spokesman.
Elaborating on the various development milestones the company has achieved, he says: “We were the first company in the region to introduce moulding systems for all flat metals and hollow sections (tubes and square) conforming to any engineering drawing or required shape. This computerised process helps creates moulds and complicated shapes that serve decorative purposes for windows, doors, metal furniture and light pole bases.”
“We were the first to introduce curved corrugated sheets to the region that are used in embellishing steel structures, shades for buildings, villas and swimming pools and parking covers,” he adds.
